Meredith Madyda, M.F.A., M.A.
Writer, Editor, Researcher
Children’s Literature Professional
I rearrange words and tighten up sentences while keeping authorial voice intact and ensuring every word counts.
I’ve been working with children’s and YA lit for more than 15 years, and I’m not too modest to admit I know my stuff. I’ve been a bookseller, a librarian, and a children’s literature grad student. I led school groups at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art; interned with an award-winning independent publisher; and have been reviewing middle grade and young adult books for Kirkus Reviews for more than four years. I studied writing with award-winning authors Ellen Wittlinger and Jeannine Atkins; I worked on my own creative projects with editors from Scholastic and HarperCollins; and I learned about editing, publishing, and reviewing from industry greats Melanie Kroupa, Vicky Smith, Roger Sutton, and Martha Parravano.
I look forward to supporting writers on their journeys toward becoming published authors. Allow me to put my skills, talent, and devotion to the written word to work for you!
